Make Your Mark

Career Coaching

Soul Detective: guiding you towards work you love.

Stuck in your search for a job you love?

Yes?

Let me give you a hand!

It’s exciting to see clients get direct results from the guidance and coaching I’ve offered, as a resume writer and most recently, a coach. I am particularly inspired and motivated to help my female clients who are re-entering the job market or preparing for a career transition. Your success is my passion, my inspiration.
I have spent the last several months implementing and sharpening my techniques while reviewing my existing knowledge of career success. The culmination of this work is the development of “Make your Mark,” a 5-week career coaching program, explicitly targeted for women in career transition that guides you towards work you love.

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we’ll ever do.”

My Story

Eight years ago, for my 33rd birthday, I decided that I needed to break out of my pattern of security and do something “nonharmonic.” And so,  instead of setting New Year’s resolutions on January 1st, I began a marking each personal anniversary year with a goal from which I could learn.

During this time I’ve read numerous books, attended various workshops and set many annual goals. Each goal has been a turning point in my life.

My results? A life worth living and work I love.

When do we start?

A few years ago I read an article in the WSJ explaining why the voice of singers like Elvis and Adele can manage to yank so many heartstrings. Clever musicians intentionally use technique psychologists call “appoggiatura.”

An appoggiatura is an on beat turning point or change in the rhythm and sound of a song that hooks us psychologically and emotionally.

Hooks us.

Progress comes from action. Sometimes we need to shift gears, and listen to ourselves, know ourselves.

Create your own appoggiatura or turning point and fall for yourself and your passions, just like you do a good song or story.

What I’ve learned over the last 20 years is that turning points can be accidental or they can be intentional. Turning points that deliver success and happiness tend to be of the intentional sort. Good luck comes from preparation and planning and not the random good will of the universe.,

Over the last seven years, I have seen the power in creating intentional turning points. When you are ready for a change — for your own appoggiatura — work with me and let me guide you to your next career phase.

I work my magic to identify the right questions that tease out what makes you unique and the best at what you do. I then work my magic to concisely and elegantly convey your professional identity so that you can build out your professional image and find fulfilling work to engage your mind and your soul, while also earning a living that meets your life goals.
